Contribute to the history of 307th Bomb Group

We expect to tell this story in eight episodes. The foundational material is comprised of over 5,000 pages of archival documents provided by the Air Force Historical Research Agency and about 100 photographs from the National Archives and Records Administration.

But history is more than just facts strung together with words. I’m eager to hear from those of you who have true stories of the air war over Korea, especially those of you who have relatives or friends of those who fought in that so-called “Forgotten War” with the Long Rangers of the 307th Bomb Group.

Send me a message with your narrative or just a note about how we might start a conversation. You are also welcome to send me your critique of the videos as I get them posted.

I plan to make revisions and publish a book for the Association; I welcome your input.

Work in Progress

Dr. Blackwell invites you to help in creating his next book.

There are two works in progress you may find of interest.

In my volunteer work as Korean War Historian for the 307th Bombardment Group Association https://307bg.org/category/Korean-war/ I am producing a series of videos narrating the achievements of one of America’s most accomplished band of aerial warriors. 1st versions of videos are available here. We expect to tell this story in eight episodes. I welcome your input.

My second project is a book on a more personal story. My uncle was Radio Operator on the first B-29 shot down by a MiG-15 fighter over Korea in November 1950. His is a tale of extraordinary virtue by an ordinary person. This will be a work of creative nonfiction.
